Lynn Curtis read English and Law at Cambridge. She worked in the editorial departments of Victor Gollancz and William Collins before spending five years working for IPC Magazines. As Fiction Editor of Woman’s Own, she abridged forthcoming novels by bestselling authors and commissioned original short fiction as well as running a successful short story-writing competition for two years.
After deciding to work freelance, she worked as a consultant editor for Simon & Schuster and Piatkus Books, read for Reader’s Digest and Book Club Associates, and ran a literary briefing sheet for Hollywood producers. She has compiled shortlists for short story and first novel competitions run by Saga Magazine, the Romantic Novelists’ Association, the Sun, and the Daily Mail and Transworld.
She has worked on books by many of the UK’s best-selling authors as well as with unpublished writers hoping to secure their first book deal. Current publishing clients include Bloomsbury, Transworld, Cornerstone Random House, Piatkus and Little, Brown.
